heal the heart

Heal the Heart is a non-profit service team that began at Incarnate Word Academy in the Leading with Service class. This class gives students an opportunity to create their own social change project, learn about servant leadership, and how to work with a group. The Heal the Heart group came together for the common purpose of helping cancer affected children. Their mission statement is to "heal the heart of those affected by cancer". The group discovered early on that they wanted to help heal the hearts through the use of arts and crafts (heART).

The group also wants the people it reached out to know that their lives are not defined by the hospital walls.
