Vision Doc

Imagine waking up to a blank white wall with beeping Ivs to your left and right. No longer your familiar posters of Camp rock with the Jonas brother but charts of the human anatomy. Whiteboards with long complicated names with fractions beside them. You realize you're definitely not in Kansas anymore. Just last week you were with your friends chugging slushes to feel that childish ache of a brain freeze. In a quick minute you couldn't stop coughing, and that familiar pressure of weight pressing on your lungs. You began to heave and cough as you rush to your parents, tasting the blue tang of the sugar in the ice. Your parents stare at you in panic not having the tiniest idea of what's going on in your body right now. So they take you to that tall building with the fluorescent lights and sanitized chairs. Immediately it hits you… it's not a quick meeting tint your doctor to find medication at your local pharmacy. This time, at this moment you rewatch all those episodes of your life that made you feel alive or depressed. As you stand there and follow the procedures to correctly get x-rayed that sinking feeling that this might become a routine whispers in your conscience. It's been a few weeks since you've been there with that white wall and, sky colored chairs with tight leather arms rests for those who want you to get better. You don't feel the same when you breathe in anymore, your joy isn't found in laughing with your friends. It's branded by walks around the hallways or cards with Bethany who just got diagnosed. You communicate with other people but these people are just as unfamiliar with that comic book shop on 76 St. The problem with that is you feel alone, indifferent, bleak and once again alone.  What would it be like to have a sleepover with the girls whose favorite colors are pink and shop at Lulu’s? Do girls really hate boys? Do boys really think girls have cooties? You can't answer or give an option because you haven't experienced the gossip. The rumors that buzz around growing teenage boys and preppy girls. The problem with this is it takes away aspects of your life. We're not to feel isolated, sitting in our shells pitying ourselves in a room full of medicine. Growing up is making dreams, fulfilling opportunities, making friends than just acquaintances. Now imagine gossiping, doing that crazy thing with that girl who's favorite color is blue and she doesn't live in a white walled room. You get to see something different it's not a uniform routine anymore. We've come together to heal the hearts of isolated hospitalized kids. We want to offer them opportunities do what they've always wanted to do before all the restrictions were laid. No, not jump off a cliff into crashing waves; but, to talk oreteniosukeh about that manga you read. It's bonding with different people who can't express themselves because they're learning about themselves. Our solution is this: We open their hearts to things outside of those fluorescent lights, we create spontaneous moments for them to remember that it's not always the prescriptions that's holding you back. We want to do extraordinary things with these people who might not even know they're a social butterfly because they're so shut in. We want to heal any heart that feels indifferent towards the world outside they're sky blue hallways. Showing them it's not a charity that we decided to randomly work on, it's moments we want to create for them so they cans thrive with a healed heart. After all this no longer do you feel like the choice isn't yours, we don't you to be terrified of painting your nails blue because “no one is going to notice” we want them to feel noticed by us and that we care. We want to solve the isolation, the feeling of being small because your choice on whether you want to take that medication or not isn't really your choice. We will help them find joy and beauty in things  that they once found epic. We're going to show them the art of being living life.
